Pink Trees follows Matthew “Job” Smith, a recovering addict navigating the unforgiving streets of Los Angeles. Job is clinging to a fragile dream of one day visiting Japan to see the cherry blossoms, a symbol of hope and renewal that has kept him going. Set against run-down motels, church recovery meetings, and the edge of relapse, the film explores resilience, relapse, and the small, quiet dreams that keep us going.
I served as both Production Designer and Costume Designer, making the entire film cohesive and reflecting the vision. I designed and dressed sets that reflected Job’s fragile world, from gritty motel rooms to intimate recovery spaces, while also curating costumes that underscored each character’s psychological state and narrative arc. My work spanned prop sourcing, set construction, graphic design, and costume styling, ensuring authenticity and depth across both physical environments and character portrayals.
